Ka-band 에서레이돔같은큰 물체를해석하기위해서는보통의수치방법을사용하기힘들다. 그리고 PO(Physical Optics) 방법은다중반사 (multiple reflection) 를고려할수없어레이돔해석에서중요한파라미터인부엽 (sidelobe level) 해석의정확도에한계를갖는다. 그러므로본논문에서는 Nyström 기반 PO 방법을사용하는 IPO 방법을사용하여 Ka-band 레이 돔해석방법을제안하고, 정확도검증을위해 Ku-band 실험데이터와 IPO 결과를비교한다. 또 Ka-band 시뮬레이션을통해높은주파수에도제안된 IPO 방법이사용할수있음을수치적으로보인다. Abstract In this paper, the radiation properties of a Ka-band Von Karman radome are analyzed by using an IPO(Iterative PO) scheme. Since the operating frequency is very high, and the size of the considered radome is large, a numerical method cannot be directly applied to calculate the properties of the radome such as transmission loss, radome pattern, boresight error, etc. Hence, in this paper, an IPO scheme is used, which can efficiently consider the multiple interaction inside the radome. Also, the IPO scheme is based on the PO scheme, which is efficient and fast in a numerical point of view. The proposed scheme is verified based on Ku-band measurement data, and its feasibility for applicability to a higher frequency simulation is addressed through a simulation at the Ka-band. Key words : Ka-band, Radome, IPO Ⅰ. 서론레이돔은 antenna를외부환경의변동에서보호하거나, 비행기같은이동체에안테나를안전하게장착하기위해사용되는안테나외부물체이다. 안테나설계시외부물체의영향을고려하지않고자유 공간에서안테나가동작한다고가정한다. 그러므로안테나와근접하게위치하는레이돔은안테나성능을저하시킬수있고, 또설계된안테나스펙을왜곡시킬수있다 [1],[2]. 그러므로레이돔존재시안테나성능또는성능에러를정확하게예측하는방법은매우중요하다. 특히, 레이다시스템에서는레이돔 본연구는 LIG 넥스원의지원으로수행되었습니다. 2 IPO(Iterative PO) 를이용한 Ka 대역 Von Karman 레이돔방사특성해석 에러를최소화하는것이표적검출 (target detection) 정확도를높이는중요한요소이다. 안테나의작동주파수범위가점점높아져레이돔의크기는전기적으로 (electrically) 매우크다. 따라서안테나와레이돔을동시에모두고려하여레이돔의영향을정확하게계산할수있는수치방법 (numerical method) 을사용하기매우어렵다 [3],[4]. 현재, 큰문제의산란해석에주로사용하는수치방법은 MLFMM(Multi-level Fast Multipole Method) 이다. 이방법은메모리와수치복잡도 (computational complexity) 가모두 log 로지금까지알려진방법에비해가장적은메모리를요구하고, 또수치복잡도도가장적어큰문제에도사용할수있다. 그러나본논문에서고려하는레이돔크기에는 MLFMM 방법을 PC 수준에서적용하기는아직어렵고, 병렬처리방법 (parallel machine) 을사용하면가능하나, 이도계산시간이아주오래걸리는단점이있다. 그리고다른수치방법인 FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) 방법을고려할수있으나, 이방법은근본적으로분산에러 (dispersion error) 에의해해석대상이적을경우정확도가높지만, 해석대상의크기가커지면에러누적에의해정확도가크게나빠진다 [6]. 또레이돔같이표면이매끄러운 (smooth) 곡선으로되어있는경우, 메쉬 (mesh) 에서 staircase error가발생하여큰레이돔해석에적합하지않다. 그러므로대규모레이돔해석에는수치해석과는다른방법이요구된다 [3]. 예를들면 ray-tracing 방법과가역정리 (reciprocity theorem) 을사용하여레이돔특성을계산할수있다 [7]. GO(Geometric Optics) 을사용하는 ray-tracing 방법은일반적으로 PO 기반방법보다정확도가떨어진다. 그러므로본연구에서는 Ka-band 영역에서레이돔을해석하기위해 PO 기반방법을사용한다. 특히레이돔내부의다중반사를고려하기위해 IPO 방법을사용한다. IPO 방법은일반적으로금속물체의산란 (scattering) 계산에효율적이다 [8]. 그러므로본논문에서는유전체에적합한 IPO 방법을 Ⅲ절에서수식화하고, Ⅲ절에서는본연구에서사용한 IPO 방법을기술한다. Ⅳ절에서는구현된 IPO 방법을 Ku-band 측정결과와비교하여구현된 IPO 방법의정확도를검증하고, Ka-band 시뮬레이션을통해 (a) 실레이돔형상 (a) Real radome shape (b) 해석레이돔형상 (b) Radome geometry for simulation 그림 1. 레이돔형상 Fig. 1. PO Formulation 그림 1(b) 에서보듯이레이돔은두께가 d 인유전 체로구성되어있고본논문에서는유전체는단일 층 (single layer) 라가정한다. 유전체의상대유전율 (relative permittivity) 은 이다. 그림 1(b) 는실제해 석모양이다. 해석영역을줄이기위해그림 1(a) 밑 λ 부분을잘라실해석영역을줄였다. 레이돔 모양은 Von Karman 형태이고, 모양은다음과같이 주어진다. sin max cos 여기서 는 33.7λ, 는 14.7λ 이고, max 는 22.5λ 이다. (1) 방사특성을 PO 방법으로해석하기위해서는레 이돔표면에서의법선벡터 (normal vector) 를구해야 1149

(2) (a) E-plane (b) H-plane 여기서, 이고 sin 이다. 또 유전체판 (dielectric slab) 의반사계수 (reflection coefficient) 와투과계수 (transmission coefficient) 는다음 과같이주어진다 [9]. 여기서, 이고, 이다. sin 이고, 는입사각이다. 그리고 은 m=v, h pol. 의 Fresnel reflection coefficient 이다. (3) IPO 를계산하기위해서는레이돔내부및외부 벽위의자기전류 (magnetic current) 및전기전류 (electric current) 를계산해야한다. PO 방법은다음과 같이표면전류를근사화하므로해석물체의표면 에서입사파는평면파 (plane wave) 로가정한다. 4 IPO(Iterative PO) 를이용한 Ka 대역 Von Karman 레이돔방사특성해석 식 (5), (6) 의전류를구하기위해다음과같은식 을사용하였다. 여기서 는입사파 (incident wave) 의파수벡터 (wave vector) 이다. 그리고 는입사파의 h-pol. 성분이고, 는입사파의 v-pol. 성분이다. (7) 유사하게레이돔외벽에존재하는전류를구할 수있다. 이때는반사계수대신투과계수를사용한 다. 구한전류는다음과같이주어진다. (8) Ⅲ. IPO Scheme 식 (8) 은레이돔내부에서발생하는다중반사를 고려하지못하므로 IPO 방법을사용하여다중반사 을고려한다. 먼저식 (5), (6) 및 (8) 을계산한다. 이 것이 first-order PO 전류이다. 식 (5) 와 (6) 을이용하 여레이돔내부벽에의해반사되는파를계산할수 있고, 이를이용하여 PO 전류를계산, 보정할수있 다. 이와같은보정을반복하여다중반사를고려하지 못하는 PO 방법의약점을보완할수있다. 이런과 정은 IPO 방법이라알려져있다. 이방법의반복절 차 (iteration) 는보통발산하므로전류의크기가발산 하는순간반복절차를멈춰야한다. 이러한방법을 수식으로표현하면다음과같은무한급수가된다. (9) 여기서 는식 (5), (6) 및 (8) 로계산되는 first-order PO 전류이고, 는 에의해생성되는 IPO 전류이다. 본논문에서는식 (9) 의수렴성을조절하 기위해다음과같이 IPO 전류를계산하였다 [10]. (10) 여기서 는임의의양수이고, 는 PO 오퍼레이터 (operator) 이다. 식 (10) 이식 (9) 와같은결과를생성 하는것은다음과같이증명된다. (11) 그러므로식 (11) 은식 (9) 와같다. 여기서 인경우 Jacobi 방법이라한다 [10]. IPO 과정을멈추기 위해다음과같이오차를정의하였다. (12) 여기서, 는레이돔표면이다. 본논문에서사용한 stop criterion 은 또는 이다. Ⅳ. Numerical Simulation 구현된 IPO 방법을검증하기위해우선 Ku-band 에서 IPO 결과와실험결과와비교하였다. 여기서 d 는 5.9 [mm] 이고, 레이돔유전율은 3.4 이고, 손실탄 젠트 (loss tangent) 는 이다. 레이돔크기는그림 1 (a) 에주어졌다. 본논문에서는 IPO 방법을 Nyström 방법을이용하여구현하였다. Nyström 방법은 PO 전 류에서방사되는 field 를계산하는적분을 수치방 법 (numerical quadrature) 을사용하여계산한다 [11]. 그 러므로, 수치방법을계산하기위한샘플링지점 (sampling point) 에서전류를예측한다. 즉, 다음과같 이적분을계산한다고하면전류들은 에서계산한다. 즉, 레이돔이가중점전류소 스 (weighted point current source) 로근사화된다 [11]. 먼저본논문에서유도한식들의정확성을확인 1151

5 韓國電磁波學會論文誌第 22 卷第 12 號 2011 年 12 月 하기위해투과계수를 1로두고, 레이돔패턴을계산하였다. 이때는 equivalent theorem에의해레이돔이없는경우의안테나패턴과레이돔패턴이일치해야한다. 안테나는 x방향자기다이폴어레이 (magnetic dipole array) 를사용하였다. 그림 2에서보듯이 IPO 방법결과와레이돔없이계산된안테나패턴은매우정확하게일치하고있다. 약간의오차 (< 0.5 db) 는레이돔해석에서레이돔밑바닥은고려하지않아생기는오차이다. 구현된방법의정확도를측정하기위해실측정값과비교하였다. 그림 3은짐발각에대한레이돔패턴비교이다. 이경우 0.5로두고반복절차를멈추는기준을 0.01로하여 7번정도반복계산하였다. 그림 3은정규화된레이돔패턴을보여준다. 그림 3에서보듯이 IPO는정확한결과를예측하고, 특히다중반사에의해생성되는부엽를예측할수있다. 그에반해 first-order PO 방법은주엽 (main lobe) 을정확히예측을하나, 부엽는예측할수없다. 특히 IPO가부엽에서조금부정확한이유는레이돔밑바닥이막혀있지않아레이돔표면에서발생하는회절 (diffraction) 의영향때문이다. 이회절때문에짐발각이 40 인경우부엽오차가가장커진다. 다음은투과손실 (transmission loss) 계산의예이다. 이경우다중반사보다레이돔형상에의한영향이중요하므로 first-order PO 방법을사용하여계산시간을줄일수있다. 투과손실은레이돔이있는경우와없는경우주엽크기의비이므로정확한비교를위해투과계수를 1로둔경우 ( 레이돔이없는경우 ) 와레이돔이있는경우를비교하였다. 정확한최대값을찾기위해패턴계산후보간 (interpolation) 하여패턴의최댓값을구했다. 그림 4에서보듯이실험결과와 PO 결과의차이는대략 0.2~0.3 db 정도로 PO 결과가매우정확함을알수있다. 짐발각 0 근처의 PO 결과패턴이실험결과와다른이유는레이돔 nose-tip을 PO 방법에서고려하지않아생기는오차이다. 금속 (metal) 으로이루어진작은 nose-tip은레이돔패턴의크기를키우는역할을한다 [3]. 다음은 BSE(Boresight Error) 계산이다. 이도레이돔형상이주원인이므로 first-order PO 방법을사용한다. 측정결과가없으므로 PO 결과만그림 5에보 (a) 짐발각 =10 (a) Gimbal angle=10 (b) 짐발각 =20 (b) Gimbal angle=20 (c) 짐발각 =40 (c) Gimbal angle=40 그림 3. 짐발각 (Gimbal angle) 에대한레이돔패턴비교 Fig. 3. BSE 를계산하는방법중영패턴 (null pattern) 의영점이동을계산하는방법을사용하였다 [1]. 다음은 Ka-band 시뮬레이션결과이다. 레이돔형 상크기, 안테나위치등크기를포함한양들은파장 (wavelength) 으로스케일링 (scaling) 하였다. 그러므로 Ku - band 결과와비슷한결과가기대된다. 그림 6 은두 짐발각에대한레이돔패턴결과이다. Ku-band 결과 와같이 IPO 방법은다중반사에의해발생하는부 엽을예측할수있다. 이경우에는 1 로두고반 복계산은한번만계산하였다. 그림 6. 두개의짐발각에대한 Ka-band 레이돔패턴 Fig. 6. Ka-band radome pattern for two Gimbal angles at Ka-band. Ⅴ. 결론 본논문에서는 Ka-band 레이돔해석을위해 IPO 방법을제안하였다. 제안된 IPO 방법은레이돔을단 일층유전체로모델링하여 PO 방법을적용하였고, 구한 PO 전류를기반으로레이돔벽사이의상호작 용 (interaction) 을 PO 기반으로계산하여 first-order PO 방법의약점을보안하였다. 구현된방법은 Ku- band 측정데이터를사용하여검증하였다. 측정데 이터와비교로 IPO 방법의정확도가매우높음을알 수있고, 특히짐발각이 0 이아닌경우 first-order PO 방법이예측못하는레이돔패턴의부엽크기가 커지는현상을정확하계예측할수있다. 또 Ka-band 시뮬레이션을바탕으로보다높은주파수영역에서 레이돔해석에제안된 IPO 방법을사용할수있음을 보였다. 참고문헌 [1] D.
