How ever, their knowledges or attitudes of sex ar e out of keeping w ith their phy sical growth. Adolescence is a time w hen the adolescent s begin to be sexually aw akened and to br eak out of their individual stagnation. T he sexual con sciou sness or attitudes that ar e form ed in this period can hav e an effect on their growth. T her efore the purpose of this study is to better under stand through adolescent ' s interest s and attitudes tow ar d sex. A surv ey w as conducted aw ay Korea teenager s thr ough a questionnaire ; T he questionnaire con sisted of w hole question s about sex know ledge, sex con sciou sness and sex behavior. T heir subject s are students at six schools in Puchon city, Kyonggi- do, Kor ea. T he dat a w as analyzed by SAS electric data processing - -

program. ) T he student s in middle school are aw are of their ow n phy sical change but do not hav e concret e and practical methods of contraception. T hey obtained the information and most sex knowledge through only their friends or T V. E specially most boy s learn about sex thr ough internet and PC. ) With r egar d to sex attitudes, boy s ar e m or e inter ested while girls ar e mor e asham ed. With regard to a fix ed idea about sex r oles, boy s and student s having poor educated father s or only w orking father s hav e more traditional thought s about sex. T here are differ ences betw een boy s and girls about w hat they think sex is. While girls have a curiosity about contr aception method and sex illness, boy s hav e a curiosity about sex behavior and sex impulse. Also the student ' s r espon ses are different according to their father ' s academic career. ) T he students in coeducation could better under stand sex and accept the other sexual relation ships natur ally becau se they get along w ith each other. Most student s have positiv e attitudes about the other sex. T hey think that the coeducation is the chance to better under stand the other sex. T hey r eplied that the degr ee in inter sexual association is gr asping - -

partner ' s hands or kissing. T his fact s show s that they ar e open - hearted to the physical touching. ) With r egar d to virginity befor e marriage both of them agree that should be kept but girl' s agreement s ar e high. Moreov er, it is r eput ed that boy s whose father has low educated tend to masturbate m or e than these boy s having w ell educated father s. Ev en though many student s solve their sex impulses through sound methods such as study, hobby, ex ercise and so on, only a few student s channel impulse through actual sex. ) Most girls and boy s believ ed that m en and w omen have equal abilities. Boy s partly hav e a tr aditional thought s of sex roles, also girls think that m en are better than w omen w ith specific capabilities or ex er cise abilities. - -
