Journal of Educational Innovation Research 2017, Vol. 27, No. 4, pp.149-171 DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.21024/pnuedi.27.4.201712.149 * A Study on Teachers and Parents Perceptions on the Introduction of Innovational Education District in Busan Area Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze teachers and parents' perceptions about the introduction of innovational education district in Busan area. Method: In order to achieve the purpose of the research, a questionnaire survey was conducted on a total of 2,172, 733 teachers and 1,439 parents. Results: First, teachers and parents recognized the need for an innovational education district. Second, they wanted to focus on enhancing public education credibility by improving school education activities for the purpose of the innovational education district. Third, they hoped that priority should be given to innovational education district such as assistant human resource support for the reduction of teacher administration work, the professional learning community of teachers, experiential learning and student activities using community resources, and the linkage of elementary and secondary schools in innovational schools. Fourth, the types of cooperative type of innovational education districts were thought to be the type of cooperating with the district office, the Busan city, the provincial government, the university, and the community. As for the type of budget investment of innovational education districts, the education office and the municipalities were relatively high and the basic municipalities preferred the low type. Conclusion and suggestions: As policy issues for the introduction and development of the innovational education district, seven tasks were proposed including the vision setting and consensus formation of the innovational education district.
