Journal of Educational Innovation Research 2018, Vol. 28, No. 1, pp.99-117 DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.21024/pnuedi.28.1.201803.99 2015 * A Analysis of the Characters and Issues about the 2015 Revised Social Studies Curriculum Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the characters and issues about the 2015 revised social studies curriculum to explore the suggestion for future revision. Method: we analyzed preceding researches about the 2015 revised social studies curriculum. Results: First, the word competence, which is the goal and main character of the 2015 revised curriculum is blamed for its ambiguity. Second, matter of integration between social studies subjects is not resolved yet. Third, the new curriculum report suggests specific methods of teaching and evaluating, but it can restrict on teachers role in reconstruction of social studies curriculum. Conclusion: To implement the 2015 revised social studies curriculum successfully, teacher training programs about the revised curriculum should be provided for social studies teachers.
