1 Asia-pacific Journal of Multimedia Services Convergent with Art, Humanities, and Sociology Vol.9, No.2, February (2019), pp 대학신입생의강점활용과자아탄력성이 대학학업중단에미치는영향 문인오이영주이정란 요약 본연구의목적은대학신입생의강점활용자아탄력성이대학신입생의대학생활학업중단에어떠한영향을미치는지알아보는데목적이있다연구대상은전북대학신입생명이다연구방법은을사용하였다연구결과는검증일원배치분산분석상관분석다중회귀분석을실시하여분석하였다연구결과는다음과같다첫째강점활용자아탄력성은성별계열별에따라학업중단예측에차이가있는것으로나타났다둘째강점활용과자아탄력성이대학신입생의대학생활적응에영향을미치는것으로나타났다강점활용과자아탄력성은학업중단예측에유의미한정적인상관이있는것으로나타났다셋째강점활용과자아탄력성은학업중단예측에유의한영향을미치는것으로나타났다이결과대학신입생의학업중단을방지하고대학생활에잘적응할수있도록대학이지원하기위하여개인의성격강점을활용할수있도록지원하며자아탄력성을증진시킬수있는교육이신입생시기에이루어지는것이필요함을제시하였다 핵심어강점활용자아탄력성대학생활적응학업중단예측 Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of strengths use and ego - resilience of college freshmen on college academic life. The subjects of this study were 474 freshmen of Jeonbukdo W university. 2 Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, there is a difference in the prediction of academic dropout according to sex, major and use of strengths and ego - resilience. Second, the use of strength and ego - resilience were found to affect college freshmen 's adaptation to college life. The use of strength and ego - resilience showed a statistically significant correlation with the predictions of suspension of schooling. Third, the use of strength and ego - resilience were found to have a significant effect on the academic dropout prediction. As a result, it is suggested that the university should support the personality strengths of the students in order to prevent the students from stopping their study and adapt to college life, and to educate them to improve their self - respectively. Keywords : Strength use, Ego-resiliency, College Adaptation, Academic dropout prediction 서론 우리나라고등학생의대학진학률은이미 2017년에 68.9% 를넘었다. 많은학생들이대학에가지 만대학생의중도탈락률은매년 14만명이상이며이에대한사회적비용도 3조원이넘는것으로 추정된다 [1]. 대학생의중도탈락률은대학평가의중요한기준중하나로각대학마다신입생들의 대학생활적응을지원하기위해많은관심을기울이고있다. 대학생은 성년초기 로인생에있어 자신을한인간으로서가능성을발견하는시기이다. 대학에잘적응하는것은성인으로의삶을준 비하는데많은도움이되고사회적비용을낭비하지않게하는중요한요인이될것이므로중요하 다. 대학생활에적응을잘하는것은개인내적응및학습환경에대한적응모두를포괄하는개 념이라고할수있다[2]. 대학생활적응과관련하여서는다양한심리적변인및사회적변인과관계 가있는것으로보고있다. 선행연구들은개인의정서조절능력및자아탄력성, 사회적지지, 자기효 능감, 통제력, 자아존중감, 및스트레스대처방식, 진로정체감또는가족의변인[2-7] 등을대학생활 적응을예측하는변인으로설명하고있다. 그러나일부[2] 연구를제외한다른연구들에서대학적 응을위하여대학생개인이가진약점을어떻게보완할것인가에초점을맞추어영향과상관성을 연구하고있다. 사람의강점은새로운환경의적응을효과적으로돕는것으로알려져있다. 강점은긍정적인특 질일뿐아니라타고난능력이나지식과기술로길러진재능이라고정의되고있다[8]. 즉, 강점은 행동하고, 생각하고, 느끼는특정한방식을활용하는이에게진정성과열정을느끼게하고최적이 기능과발달및수행을이끌어낸다 [9]. 이러한개인의강점이잘발휘되면삶의목표에잘도달할 수있고, 행복한삶을영위할수있게된다[10]. 강점을활용하는것은인간의사고, 행동, 정서에 있는 긍정적 인특성을활용한다는것이다[11]. 더불어이러한강점을활용하는것은환경에의 적응및삶의만족, 행복과관계가있는것으로나타나고있다[12-14]. 따라서강점활용의능력이 대학생활적응의사고나행동및정서에밀접한관련이있을것으로예측이가능하다. 강점활용이 대학생활적응에미치는영향에대한연구는주로진로정체감을매개로하여어떠한영향을주는 지에대한연구가이루어져왔다 [2, 15]. 따라서강점활용능력이대학생활에어떠한영향을미치며 352 Copyright 2019 HSST

3 관계가있는지직접적인연구가이루어지는것이필요하다. Asia-pacific Journal of Multimedia Services Convergent with Art, Humanities, and Sociology Vol.9, No.2, February (2019), pp 대학생은성인초기의단계로자신을완성해가야하는시기이기도하다. 성인으로서자신의정체 감을세워가는과정에대학생들은여러어려움과스트레스상황에놓이게된다. 어려움을피할수 는없지만그어려움을잘견디고극복해나가는것은대학생활을잘적응하게할뿐만아니라앞 으로의진도를위한준비에도긍정적인영향을주게된다. 자아탄력성은변화하는상황적요구나 스트레스상황에서유연하게반응하는성향으로개인의감정조절과환경변화적응, 내적, 외적스트 레스에대한융통적인적응과역경을극복하는능력을말한다[16]. 대학생들은자아탄력성이높을 수록낯선상황에서융통성을발휘할줄알게되며, 학교생활에서겪는스트레스에유연하게대처 하여성공적인대학생활에적응하게된다고한다 [17, 18]. 본연구에서는대학신입생들의강점활용능력과자아탄력성이대학생활적응에어떻게관련이 있는지돕는지살펴보고자한다. 즉, 개인의긍정적인능력에초점에맞추어대학생활적응과관련 있는변인에대한연구를통하여신입생들의대학적응을돕는교육내용개발의기초자료로삼고자 한다. 이를위한연구문제는다음과같다. 연구문제 1. 대학신입생의인구통계학적특성에따라강점활용, 자아탄력성, 학업중단예측에 차이가있는가? 연구문제 연구문제 2. 대학신입생의강점활용, 자아탄력성, 학업중단예측간의관계는어떠한가? 3. 대학신입생의강점활용, 자아탄력성이학업중단예측에미치는영향은어떠한가? 연구방법 연구대상 본연구는전북의 W대 2016학년도신입생을대상으로 4월 11 일~4월30 일까지시행되었다. 총 485 부의설문지가배부되었고, 성실히응답한 474 명의자료를분석하였다. 연구도구 강점활용척도 신입생들이다양한상황에서얼마나많이자신의강점을활용하는가를측정하기위하여 Govindjk & Linley[19] 가제작한도구를박부금, 이희경[20] 가타당화한한국판강점활용도구가사 용되었다. 강점활용맥락 7 문항, 강점활용노력 7문항총 14개의 Likert 문항이며신뢰도는.92 이다. 자아탄력성척도 ISSN: AJMAHS Copyright 2019 HSST 353

4 자아탄력성측정을위해이은석, 김성희[21] 의대학생자아탄력성척도를사용하였다. 긍정적사 고, 정서조절, 목표지향성, 의사소통방식총 4개요인 32문항의 5점 Likert 척도로신뢰도는.86 이다. 학업중단예측척도 대학생활적응예측을위하여백은주, 남민우, 이해듬[22] 의신입생학업중단예측도구를사용하였 다. 가정환경 경제수준, 학업적자기효능감, 전공의적성및진로부합도, 교수와의상호작용, 전공 의취업전망도, 대학생활적응도, 대학만족도총 7개요인 26개의 5점 Likert 문항으로신뢰도는.90이 다. 자료처리 대학신입생의성격강점및자아탄력성이대학생활적응에미치는영향을알아보기위해 SPSS 22.0 을사용하여 T- 검증, 일원분산분석, Pearson 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을실시하였다. 연구결과 연구대상자의일반적특성 연구대상자는전북 W 대의신입생인남학생 181 명(38.2%), 여학생 293 명(0.7%) 총 474명을대상으 로하였다. 보건의료학부 142 명(30.0%), 간호학부 114 명(24.1%), 보건복지학부 86 명(18.1%), 호텔관광 학부 66 명(13.9%), 군사학부 40 명(8.4%), 한류예술학부 26 명(5.5%) 이다. 대학신입생의인구사회학적특성에따른변인의차이 대학신입생의성별과전공별에따른강점활용, 자아탄력성, 학업중단예측변인의평균은다음과 같다. 표 대학신입생의성별전공별에따른변인의평균차이 354 Copyright 2016 HSST

6 β ** p<.01, *** p<.001 결론 본연구결과, 대학신입생은남학생이여학생에비해성격강점활용및자아탄력성, 대학생활적 응예측모두에서유의하게높았다. 이것은선행연구와유사한결과이다 [3, 23]. 일반적으로남학생 이스트레스에잘견디는성향이있는데이러한성향은강점활용이나자아탄력성, 대학생활적응 예측전반에서높은결과를나타낸것으로설명될수있다. 더불어이결과는대학신입생중여 학생에대한지원이주의깊게이루어지는것이필요한것으로해석될수있다. 또한강점활용, 자아탄력성, 대학생활적응예측모두는정적상관을나타내선행연구들 [2, 24, 25] 과같은결과를나타냈다. 즉자신의강점을활용하고자하는의지를가지고있고자신의강 점이무엇인지파악하고있는대학신입생은입학후스트레스상황에놓일때쉽게회복하는것 으로해석할수있다. 이것은입학후스트레스상황에놓일때잘극복할수있게하여대학생활 적응을잘할수있도록해주는것임을알수있다. 마지막으로강점활용능력과자아탄력성이높을수록대학생활적응경향성이높은것으로나타 났다. 이것은선행연구 [15, 17, 18] 와같은결과로해석될수있다. 즉, 강점활용능력은신입생으로 서대학생활에서만나는전공공부또는진로, 교수와의관계등에서자신있게행동할수있게해 주어적응을쉽게할수있도록지원해주는것으로예측이가능하다. 더불어고등학교와다른물 리적, 인적환경과심리적환경에놓이는대학신입생들이예측이어려운대학신입생초기생활에 서자신을긍정적으로인식하고, 어려움을잘견딜수있게하여대학생활을잘적응하게하는것 으로해석될수있다. 본연구를통하여대학신입생의특성과입학초기학업중단에예측을할수있는요인을파악할 수있었으며신입생의대학생활적응을지원하기위하여여학생에대한지원책을마련하는것이필 요하고, 성격강점능력을향상시키며, 자아탄력성을높일수있는대학내의교육프로그램과상담 을지원이이루어지는것이필요하며이에대한프로그램개발이필요한것으로여겨진다. 본연 구는한지역의대학생을대상으로이루어졌으며학기초에연구가이루어졌다. 전반적인연구대 상의확대와대학신입생들이대학에적응하여졸업에이르게하는과정에대한기간을다르게하 는연구가계속해서이루어지는것이필요하다. 356 Copyright 2016 HSST
