A Study on the Experience of the Child Rearing of the Divorced Men Baekseok University The purpose of this study was to psychologize how divorced men overcome their difficulties of divorce and how they approach in raising their children. This study was conducted in a method of in-depth interviewing with 8 participants who have raised their children by themselves after divorce. The phenomenological research method of Colazzi, in which the participants could share their world of experience intactly was used in this study. As a result, this study drew 131 structural meaning, 40 topics, 11 topic groups. This study showed that they have felt some traumas by divorce - confusion, misery, guilt, burden of raising children They also did their best to support their children receptively and enthusiastically so that their children could choose and carry on with their careers. They also attended parental programs supported by social welfare organizations, and shared their conditions, showing that they are prepared for any assistance. Therefore they came to know inherent paternal love in them and were proud of themselves on their role of fathers while raising their children after divorce. Eventually, they have recognized themselves growing up more maturely through these experiences that give power to make their lives better in the future. In conclusion, divorced men who raise their children have overcome the traumas of divorce and have become aware of their paternal love and self-esteem.
