31 27 2, 2009 ----------------- ABSTRACT The Effects of Career Exploration Group Counseling Programs on High School Students Taking The Course of Humane Studies: -Primarily on the Various Decision-making Type, Career Attitude Maturity and Career Decision-making Self-efficacy- Eun-Young Lyu (Teacher, Kyung-Ann High School) Dong-Min Kim (Professor, Chung-Ang University) The purpose of this study was to find out how a career exploration group counseling program affected the change of decision-making type and whether it improved the career attitude maturity and career decision-making self-efficacy of high school students who are taking the course of humane studies. To answer the questions above, the study was conducted with two classes selected as the experimental group and two classes selected as the control group from the frist grade of K high school located in An-San city in Kyung-Ki Province. The program which was applied to the experimental group was 'career-decision program for high school students' developed by Busan Education Research & Information Center and pre-test and post-test were conducted before and after applying the program. The result of the study is summarized as follows; First, the experimental group to which career exploration group counseling program was applied showed higher rational and dependent scores than the control group. Second, the experimental group to which career exploration group counseling program was applied showed higher career attitude maturity than the control group. Third, the experimental group to which career exploration group counseling program was applied showed higher career decision-making self-efficacy than the control group. Based on the result of the study, it would be desirable to apply the program to improve the rational decision-making ability at high school when students choose their course and electives.
