Pa st family self wa s correlated highly with present family self and present family self with depr ession and self est eem. However in regression analysis pa st family self appear ed t o exert lit tle direct influence on depression and self est eem while present self wa s a ssociat ed significantly with self est eem and depression. Th e result s did not agree with aut hor s clinical experience.
