Journal of Educational Innovation Research 2018, Vol. 28, No. 1, pp.313-331 DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.21024/pnuedi.28.1.201803.313 : * The Mediating Effect of Strengths Knowledge and Strengths Use on the Relationship between Perceived Parental Psychological Control and Career Adaptability in High School Students Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine whether strength knowledge and strength use have any mediating effects on the relationship between parental psychological control and career adaptability. Method: The survey for this study was conducted among 461 high school students attending 3 high schools in Busan, and the data was analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping. Results: The results were summarized as follows. First, strength knowledge appeared to have partial mediating effects on the relationship between parental achievement-oriented psychological control and career adaptability. Second, strength use appeared to have partial mediating effects on the relationship between parental achievement-oriented psychological control and career adaptability. Conclusion: The results of the study indicated that high school students perceiving paternal and maternal psychological control may increase their career adaptability through strength knowledge and strength use, and increase their ability to adapt to uncertain circumstances in the future.
